The Microsoft Server Platform Competency provides a wealth of partner services opportunities for core infrastructure solutions, for example re-platform, extend or migrate core workloads; enable higher availability to critical applications; and server consolidation and virtualization. The Competency helps Partners to expand their role as trusted advisors and deliver increasing business value to the customers, creating operational efficiencies through more effective applications, reduced IT labor and facilities costs, and consolidated servers.

Competency: Information Worker Solutions |
|
Designed to provide additional benefit and support to partners specializing
in collaboration, portals and other productivity solutions, the Information
Worker Solutions Competency is utilized by Gold Certified Partners that provide
their customers with solutions built on familiar programs which enable them to
better manage, prioritize and collaborate on increasing volumes of information.
Partners that have obtained the Information Worker Solutions Competency can help
their customers realize increased service revenues and new market opportunities.
Specializations within the competency are Enterprise Project Management,
Messaging and Collaboration, Office System Desktop Development, and Portals and
Enterprise Content Management.

The ISV/Software Solutions Competency recognizes the skill and focus partners
bring to a particular solution set. Microsoft Gold Certified Partners that have
obtained this competency have a successful record of developing and marketing
packed software based on Microsoft technologies.
"Solutions competencies are an important way for Microsoft to better enable
ISVs to meet customer needs," said Sanjay Parthasarathy, corporate vice
president of the Developer & Platform Evangelism Group at Microsoft.
