| Since how many years you are in Industry?
We are in IT business since 1987. We started off with a Telecom product designing and development company “Softech Microsystems” for local market which is located nearby on Shahr-e-Faisal. We have over 5000 clients in Telecom business ranging from small to large enterprises including banks, govt. defense departments of Air Force, Army and Navy etc. In 1997, we established Softech Worldwide in USA to capture foreign market and provided software consulting services for 3 years. In 2000, we established “Softech Worldwide Karachi” as an offshore software development center for SWW USA. Since then we have been providing software development services to our clients in USA.

| Mainly you are working in which domains?
Currently our focus is completely on Rich Media Platform and technologies. We are applying our technology to video based E-Learning and are working to revolutionize this industry with our unique products and solutions. We are competing with giants like Google, Yahoo and Adobe. Custom software development services are also running in parallel.

Our head office is in Virginia, USA while offshore office is here in Karachi where you are being interviewed. Our telecom division is also located at Nursery, Shahr-e-Faisal.

| What is your salary range for this position?
In general our salary packages are competitive, but our salary offer is solely based on your sole expertise and experience as we would evaluate in our hiring process. We do not make offers based on what others might be offering you. Many companies attract employees solely on basis of high salary packages in order to fulfill their short term needs. We do not compete with such companies, as our goals are long term and would only like to attract employees who are interested in long term relationship with us and work with us like a family.

| How do you evaluate your candidates?
We have a comprehensive screening process that every candidate has to go though before being offered a position. In general, we have a 3 step interview process including a technical and personality test. But this process is also adaptable to a candidate’s skill and experience allowing him to go through it more quickly.

| How often do you do late sittings?
We do not encourage late sittings.
Mostly, we ask team members to give us estimates of the tasks assigned to them, and also provide enough time to provide these estimates. Once committed to a time frame and deadline, it is an employee’s responsibility to complete those tasks on his committed time, even if it requires him to sit late.
But considering the inability to provide correct estimates, challenges of working on cutting edge technologies and sometimes business pressures naturally require team to apply more efforts. That is why at Softech our number 1 value is “Commitment”. If you are committed to the success of your project and meeting your deadlines, we will be willing to accommodate you in our team even if you are little less competent. We will support you in every way, we will accommodate your leaves, your laves, and we can even adjust with your ongoing academic needs (if any). But we do not compromise on “Commitment”.

| What sort of organizational structure do you follow?
We have a matrix environment in our organization but practically a flat hierarchy. We have carefully evolved a set of policies and procedures which cultivates a very OPEN, flexible and frank environment while maintaining professionalism and improving productivity. We follow open door management where everyone irrespective of his level is allowed and encouraged to speak up his mind whenever, wherever and to whoever while maintaining ethics and positive tone. Feedbacks and suggestions are always more than welcome and everyone is guaranteed to have no repercussions as a result of any complains as long as the motive behind it is positive.

| XYZ Company that I applied in is offering me better salary package than Softech.
Honestly, we know companies who are willing to hire you at even better salary packages than XYZ Company. If your one and only requirement is better salary package, then you should probably join the XYZ Company because in this case you might not be the right candidate for us either.
